Literature Update September 2009
This regular e-update is provided by the Academy to raise awareness of current research in orthotics and prosthetics outside of the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics (JPO).
Search terms used were "orthotic devices" and "artificial limbs" for the period of September 2009. Results were edited for clinical relevance.

This article examines an amputee sprinter and compares the results to three competitive male runners with intact limbs. The variables include physiological cost of running, endurance and running mechanics.
